For the longest time users have been waiting for OneNote for Mac OS X. There are numerous alternatives out there, free and paid versions, and for the most part they work just fine. But.OneNote they are not.

Recently Microsoft has finally made OneNote for Mac available! Happy happy, joy joy! The only downside that I can see right now is that it is currently only available on OS X 10.9 or higher, which means you need to have Mavericks installed. Hopefully that will change in the future.
Download and Install OneNote For Mac OS X. Begin by opening up the App Store on your Mac. As of right now it’s on the front page and easy to find. If not, a quick search will bring you to it. This is also a free download.
Click on the “Install App” button for the OneNote app. Enter your Apple ID and password to begin the download. You can see the status of the download and installation in your Dock. Once completed, go to your Applications folder, and you will an icon for OneNote for Mac. Configure OneNote For Mac OS X. In order to use OneNote you will need a Microsoft account. You can easily create one, or use an existing one.
Once you’ve signed in (this initial setup process is only required the first time) click “Start Using OneNote”. There you have it! For all you OneNote fans, I’ll bet this is a sight for sore eyes!
OneNote for Mac OS X is a huge step in the right direction. So many users have complained about it not being a part of the office suite for Mac.
